Background

Westminster oversight body is called the "Presbytery of Barrie" (which extends from Parry Sound to Innisfil and across to Midland, etc.)

As a part of their oversight and care of congregations within their bounds they send a visitation team of three (a "teaching elder" (pastor) and two "ruling elders”) to a congregation approximately once every five years. This is a part of the normal oversight process, and it is again Westminster's turn.

Questionnaires

As a part of this, both professing members and adherents of the congregation are invited to fill out a five-question questionnaire. These questionnaires are paper-only (not online) and are available at the Welcome Desk in the foyer from October 5-19.

The questionnaires are confidential; only the visitation team and the Presbytery's Congregational Life Team leader will have access to them. They assist the visitation team in their work. They can be submitted in a sealed envelope to a box in the office. After October 19th they will be sent to the visitation team.

November 2nd Visit

On November 2nd after worship (at which the visitation team will be present), they will meet with the congregation as a whole (if you are able to stay after the service), the session (elders), and then the pastor.

Report
The visitation team then presents a report for the Presbytery with an update on the life and work of the congregation.

Thank you
…for your help and participation as Westminster moves forward with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
