Resources & Rentals
Rental Inquiries
Many individuals, organizations and groups look to local Churches for a place to hold a meeting or gathering. At Westminster we are able to help individuals and groups find the right type of meeting space for their event. We are able to offer rates for single time uses as well as rates for multiple time or even yearly contracts for those organizations that would like to use our facility on a consistent basis.
Opportunities on our Main Level (all wheel chair accessible with washroom facilities)
← Fellowship Hall / Kitchen →
This is the main hall at Westminster and accommodates approximately 100 people for a dinner. Tables and chairs are included in the price of the room rental. If your group wishes to use the kitchen (photo: right), a separate charge would apply.
Library – Located on the main floor, our Library is a cozy spot for a small group of people wanting to hold a meeting. A group of 6 -8 people would be comfortable in this room.
←Sanctuary – Our Sanctuary is stunningly beautiful with a long centre isle, oak pews, choir loft and pulpit. Its unique roof symbolizes two hands placed together as if you were praying. The Sanctuary also has a quality sound & video system, organ, keyboard and air conditioning. This is a great location for concerts, weddings and plays with a seating capacity of approximately 275 people. In some cases approval may be needed by our Session before we can book an event.
Opportunities on our Lower Level (not wheel chair accessible, washrooms on this level)
Colvin Room – This room is located on our lower level and is a warm, comfortable room providing a relaxing setting with couches and soft chairs. It will ideally provide a very private setting for a group of 10 -12 individuals.
Lower Level Main Room – This area is a well lit open area with a carpeted floor in part of the room and tile floor making up the majority of the area. This is a suitable area for a medium sized group (20 people), with several classroom style rooms off the main area that can be used as break out rooms for larger groups. In the past this area has accommodated groups such as schools and dance clubs.
If you or your group is interested in renting any of our facilities, please contact our Church office to receive pricing and availability for the room you are interested in.

Some Recommended Reading
The Reason for God: Belief in the Age of Skepticism
By Timothy Keller.
Keller is pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. In his book, published in 2008, he clearly articulates and addresses some of the fundamental challenges people face when wading into the sea of faith and unbelief in the modern age. It’s a great read for anyone who wants to seriously explore what they do (or do not) believe.
The Challenge of Jesus: Rediscovering Who Jesus Was and Is
By N.T. Wright.
Wright is a great writer who has a gift for clearly presenting complex ideas. He is immersed in "historical Jesus" studies in a way that takes seriously the whole Bible. This is highly recommended for those who seek a vibrant, modern faith, and who want to better understand who Jesus was in light of the most recent historical research.
Introduction to the Reformed Tradition: A Way of Being the Christian Community
By John H. Leith.
The late American theologian John Leith is an authority on the Reformed faith. This is a fairly comprehensive work covering history, theology, worship, culture and a variety of prospects for the Church of today.
Christianity for the Rest of Us: How the Neighbourhood Church is Transforming the Faith
By Diana Butler Bass.
Butler Bass here takes research she obtained from visiting multitudes of mainline congregations and highlights what she calls "signposts for renewal." She focuses on the idea of transformation and lets the reader see what is happening in vibrant mainline Churches with real-life practical examples.
I See Satan Fall Like Lightning
By René Girard.
If you enjoy and are challenged by books which stretch your mind and explore the uniqueness of Christianity in our diverse, modern world, then this pioneering work is for you. French philosopher René Girard probes ideas such as violence, culture, mimesis, scapegoating and redemption very ably for the thoughtful, inquisitive reader.
Reformed Spirituality: An Introduction for Believers
By Howard L. Rice.
In this well-researched and concise book, Rice explores the fundaments of Reformed spirituality (traditionally called "piety"). He mines the historic disciplines of prayer, study, pastoral consultation and practice in an eye-opening way so that his readers might be renewed in their efforts to live faithfully day by day in the modern world.
Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World
By Henri J. M. Nouwen.
This little book is directed towards those who are wondering about spiritual living in today's world but who are not familiar with religious language and concepts. Nouwen is a poetic writer and this book is sure to make you think of life a bit differently, whether you are new to the faith or someone who has grown up with it.
The Presbyterian Handbook
This small manual is helpful (and funny!), guiding readers through Christianity 101 from a Presbyterian perspective. It includes tips on everything from how to listen to a sermon; how the Church works; how to develop daily habits of faithful living; and even how to avoid being burned at the stake!
